Israeli police violently quell protest in Al-Quds (Jerusalem) Published: Wed, 16-May-2018

The Israeli police on Tuesday evening violently attacked a protest held near Bab al-Amud in the Old City of Al-Quds (Jerusalem) to mark the 70th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba.

Eyewitnesses said that a number of protesters suffered bruises after they were severely assaulted by the Israeli policemen.

Meanwhile, violent clashes broke out between Palestinian citizens and the Israeli police in al-Izariya and Abu Dis towns east of Al-Quds (Jerusalem).

According to eyewitnesses, the police heavily fired sound bombs, teargas canisters and rubber-coated metal bullets at the citizens. No injuries were reported.
